spawn in the late afternoon hours

This
picture shows the spawning rise of the pair. Unfortunately
I couldn't take a better shot, because this rise is
performed very fast. Nevertheless the brown dorsal coloration
of the female can clearly be observed.

Just
as with Madarins, the eggs are delivered in form of
chains.

The
chains cluster up to small groups very fast

Here
the eggs are covered with fungus and are not viable
anymore.
Unfortunately
I have not yet been able to bring the eggs to hatch
